Low Purine Treats

Low Purine Diet

Some breeds - Dalmatians and Miniature Schnauzers especially - are genetically at risk of developing kidney or bladder stones from a buildup of uric acid. Dogs with Leishmaniasis need a low purine diet too. The problem is that many common treat ingredients are high in purine: offal (hearts, liver, kidneys), gamey meats like venison and duck, oily fish like mackerel, and legumes like lentils.

Every treat on this page is low in purine and safe to give alongside a managed diet. Our Venison Skin and Beef Ears are single-ingredient treats with no offal, making them a simple choice for training or daily treating when you need to know exactly what's going in.
